About Me...

I did not grow up with horses, I actually did not start my horse journey until my early 30’s. I bought my first horse in 2001 and it has been a journey of true self development ever since. With no background in horses I fell in love with a 3 year old Tennessee Walker that was as green as they come and I bought her. After a few incidents where I could no longer get on her without every muscle in my body shaking profusely, even my glutes, which I never knew could shake.

I took her home from the boarding facility and searched for a better way to partner with this very dominant Right/Left Brain Extroverted horse.

I found a Parelli advertisement in a horse magazine and bought the level one packet and with the home study program I was able to gain my confidence back and get back on and ride again. It was not a short or easy road for me as from the time I stopped riding at the boarding facility it took me close to 8 months to ride again.
Once I was able to get beyond most of that fear, I knew that I wanted to become an instructor of the Parelli program. I wanted to help people like myself become partners with their horse and enjoy their horse, not have fear. I wanted to help ignite and facilitate the joy and love we have for our horse’s into a productive relationship rather than a fantasy that turns into disaster and another statistic of someone getting out of horses due to fear or injury. I knew I wanted to teach back in 2004 but I also knew that I had a long way to go in my own horsemanship before I could help others.
Since 2004, I have been on a persistent path of improving my horsemanship. As Pat says, “take care of your horsemanship and your horsemanship will take care of you!” I have taken close to 20 Parelli clinics with Nita Jo Rush, Dave Ellis and Karen Rohlf and have been to the International Study Center several times. In October of 2009 I became a licensed One Star Parelli Instructor and have taught over 40 Parelli students. I am looking forward to deepening my learning this year at the Parelli University and by spending more dedicated time with a few of his instructors.
My mission is to help my students obtain Leadership and partnership with their horse, to feel safe and to have fun with their horse using Pat’s principles. It is all about Love, Language and Leadership, I am truly blessed and honored to be able to take my learning to the next level and help others with their horsemanship journey.
